Major Update In Mystery Disappearance of Texas Mother

Police have identified a man believed to have been driving the vehicle of a missing woman in Missouri City, Texas, according to local reports.
Authorities continue their search for Karen Miles, a 61-year-old mother who has been missing for more than two weeks.
Local ABC affiliate Eyewitness News reports that Miles, known for her active involvement in various community organizations, was last seen on August 21. However, she was not reported missing until August 29, eight days later. Loved ones suspect that Miles’ busy schedule and the fact that her children live out of town may have contributed to the delay in realizing she was missing.
Her Ford Explorer was found on August 25, and is believed to be an important lead in the investigation.
Danessa Bolling, a close friend and fellow member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a co-ed fraternal organization, told the outlet, “The car will hopefully lead us to some answers. It’s also honestly very scary because we have the car, but we don’t have Karen.”
Police told the outlet that surveillance footage captured a man driving the vehicle, which was also found to have stolen plates from Arkansas. The car was eventually located in the parking lot of an H-E-B grocery store, where local police conducted a traffic stop.
The man, who was a fugitive at the time of his arrest, faces charges for evading arrest in both Harris County and Brazoria County, but none directly related to Miles’ disappearance, the outlet reported. During questioning, Clark reportedly told investigators he did not know Miles.
Police are examining her car for any clues that could lead them to her whereabouts, but they have not disclosed further details, according to Eyewitness News.
Bolling described Miles as someone who “gives so much, she’s constantly volunteering.”
“(She) is light, and so, this feels dark because we don’t know where she is,” Bolling told Eyewitness News.
Janice Bond, Miles’s daughter wrote on Facebook,”My brother and I ask for your help in searching for our mother, Karen, who has been missing for over a week. According to the police department, someone has already been arrested with her car. She urgently needs critical medication, and we believe she does not have it with her.”
Her sister, Patricia Evans, who expressed fear for her diabetic sibling’s wellbeing, stated for ABC13, “I am already accepting that she is gone, and I am trying to deal with that.”
CBS Texas affiliate KHOU reported that the Texas Department of Public Safety has issued a CLEAR Alert for Miles, noting her medical condition as a significant concern. Miles requires three insulin shots daily to manage her diabetes, and without them, she risks slipping into a coma.
Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward, as the search for Karen Miles continues.
